Union shoots 61% in 98-62 men's basketball win at Skidmore

John Cagianello and his mates shot a blistering 61% at Skidmore.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY -- Union shot 60.6 percent from the floor, including 15 of 32 three-pointers on the way to a 98-62 Liberty League men's basketball win over Skidmore College. Senior guard John Cagianello (Wethersfield, CT) the way for the Dutchmen (12-7, 5-3 Liberty) with 18 points.  He hit seven of 10 field goals and was three for six from three-point range.  Brian Scordato (Mt. Kisco, NY) added 16 points and Steve Madej (Burnt Hills, NY scored 13 off the bench.

Reed Juckett scored 18 points and had four assists for Skidmore (4-15, 1-7). Juckett hit seven of 10 from the floor.  Also in double figures for the Thoroughbreds were Greg Gallagher with 15 and Jake Schechtman (Wynnewood, Pa.) with 14.

The Dutchmen had a 43-23 rebounding advantage on the night, and led 52-29 at halftime. They also outrebounded the Thoroughbreds on the defensive boards, 30-14.

Union travels to Hobart Friday for an 8 p.m. contest.
